WASHINGTON • With a late-afternoon getaway game against the Washington Nationals, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina will do something he hasn't yet this season.
Sit.
Molina will get a break today after starting the team's first 13 games this season. All of the off days and the scattering of Sunday night games have allowed the catcher to avoid the usual day-game-after-night-game reason for a break, and during the first road trip of the season Tony Cruz took a three-day paternity leave to attend the birth of his daughter.
Molina has started to warm at the plate while also remaining behind it.
