Molina, Pujols still share bond

He is an eight-time Gold Glove winner, four-time Platinum Glove recipient, a seven-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion. Yadier Molina is all these and more as he’s hit .300 or better three times in his career and is at .309 today after no one knew quite to expect this spring following two offseason operations to repair left thumb damage.

The Cardinals’ catcher is appreciative of many who have helped in his career, including catching instructor Dave Ricketts and former teammate and now manager Mike Matheny. But there also is a certain former Cardinals first baseman who has had a hand in this.
