MILWAUKEE • Yadier Molina, who hadn’t hit a home run since May 21, made his second of the season count in the eighth inning Friday night.
Facing Milwaukee lefthander Will Smith, the Cardinals’ catcher drilled an 0-2 slider over the left-field wall to tie the score at 3-3 after the Brewers had gone ahead with two homers in the sixth and then knocked starter Michael Wacha out of the game on a liner off his right foot in the seventh.
INJURY ADDED TO INSULT FOR WACHA
It was bad enough for Cardinals righthander Michael Wacha allowed back-to-back homers to Jonathan Lucroy and Chris Carter in the sixth inning Friday night, bringing the Brewers from 2-1 in arrears to a 3-2 lead.
