CHICAGO — By the time the Cardinals return to St. Louis to start a lengthy home stand Thursday, some familiar faces will be waiting for them, cleared from their weeks of inactivity due to COVID-19 and possibly nearing returns.
All-Stars Yadier Molina and Paul DeJong were part of a group of Cardinals to receive clearance from Major League Baseball to resume activities and did so Tuesday in St. Louis. In addition to the two everyday players, infielder Rangel Ravelo and reliever Kodi Whitley completed their reentry exams from a COVID-19 positive test, joining infielder Edmundo Sosa and Carlos Martinez as the six Cardinals making their returns.
