BOCA RATON, Fla. • Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred repeated Monday his hope that the hacking scandal that engulfed the Cardinals this past summer and has involved two major-league clubs will find resolution this winter.
Manfred spoke to The Houston Chronicle at a groundbreaking for the Astros' new spring training facility in West Palm Beach, Fla., and he reiterated statements made during the most recent postseason.
“I’m hopeful that that situation will be taken care of during the offseason,” Manfred said to the paper. “The timing, however, is not completely within our control.
