MLB Insider: NL finally has upper hand vs. AL

The Cardinals will become the first major-league team to finish its home interleague schedule this season when they entertain the Cleveland Indians in a three-game series that opens Monday. It will be the first time Cleveland will have played here since 2012, when the Indians took two of three games.

But, as long as that’s been, consider how long it has been since the National League had the upper hand in interleague play for a season. That last came in 2003, but this might be the year as the National held an 11-game edge over the American with 119 of the 300 interleague games played before the weekend.
