Coming into Tuesday, Marco Gonzales’ previous starts had been somewhat shaky. The lefty gave up three home runs at Colorado Springs during his last outing, and his ERA stood at 6.11.
But it was a different story Tuesday night. Gonzales, who had been battling shoulder soreness, bounced back with a six-inning performance for Class AAA Memphis against Omaha.
Despite giving up five hits including a home run, Gonzales walked only two batters and struck out seven. He threw 56 strikes in 85 pitches.

The Memphis Redbirds won in walk-off fashion as Greg Garcia singled in Cody Stanley for the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
