Milwaukee righthander Aaron Wilkerson, pitching for Colorado Springs, held Memphis hitless for seven innings, striking out 11, in a Pacific Coast League playoff game on Sept. 7. Facing a Cardinals lineup composed of players who appeared for Memphis at one point or another this year, Wilkerson didn’t allow a hit for the first four innings of Sunday’s game either as he protected a 4-0 lead.
The Cardinals thought they had a hit when Aledmys Diaz was ruled to have beaten out a roller in the second. But not only was the call reversed on a challenge but Diaz, had to leave the game with a strained left hamstring.
