Matt Holliday has played in nearly 1,900 big-league baseball games. He’d like to be in more.
Holliday is working out in Jupiter, Fla., where he lives with his family and is hoping for a call back to the majors. He’s had a spot in the big leagues, usually a marquee one, for the past 14 seasons — eight of the last nine with the Cardinals. And while he waits, he is dabbling in broadcasting.
“I’m trying to figure out if I get a chance to play again,” Holliday, 38, said by phone this week. “I think I can still play at a high level.
