It’s been a rough few weeks for “Jimmy Ballgame,” who has been off his game because of significant health issues that include a bout with coronavirus.
Jim Edmonds, the former standout major-league center fielder who had a big run with the Cardinals from 2000-07 and now is one of the analysts on Fox Sports Midwest’s Cards telecasts, was upbeat in a phone conversation Thursday as he emerges from a rugged run.
He has had not only the virus, but also pneumonia. On top of that, he then had a run-in with a shower door that led to 12 stitches being placed on the eyebrow above his right eye.
