Mayers, Tuivailala, Martinez to be final callups

"Just give him a chance to hit the reset button," Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said.

Mayers, who would be an option in long relief, fared much better in the Minors. He made a combined 25 starts with the Double-A and Triple-A teams, finishing 9-10 with a 3.19 ERA.

Tuivailala was just sent back to Triple-A Memphis on Aug. 25 after an ineffective nine-day stint in the big leagues. In eight appearances with the Cardinals this year, Tuivailala has given up six runs on 11 hits in six innings. He saved 18 games with Triple-A Memphis.

Martinez has spent 10 seasons in the Minors since signing out of Venezuela.
