After throwing five-plus scoreless innings on Wednesday against Milwaukee in his 2023 season debut for the Cardinals, what lies ahead for left-hander Matthew Liberatore?
“He'll have another outing,” Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said pregame Thursday. “We're trying to figure out how we want to line it up moving forward for the two off days that we have coming up.”
The Cardinals, who opened up a four-game series against the Dodgers on Thursday, will play 13 consecutive games following the series opener vs. Los Angeles before receiving back-to-back days off on May 31 and June 1.
There is a chance that, in the event of an emergency, Liberatore, 23, could be used out of the bullpen over the weekend series.
