JUPITER, Fla. • With more and more teammates arriving each day and pitching coach Derek Lilliquist on hand for report day, Carlos Martinez took another deliberate step Wednesday toward spring training.
Martinez threw 15 pitches -- all of them fastballs, all at less than full strength -- off the mound.
"I'm so excited because I feel like I'm come back very soon," Martinez said. "I'm like 80 percent. When I was throwing, I was just throwing fastballs I want to know if I'm feeling OK, and I think the next bullpen I will be good.
