The door of Carlos Martinez’s first season as a starting pitcher was slammed shut on Saturday after an MRI avowed that the 23-year-old righty had suffered a Grade 2 strain in the shoulder of his dominate arm. The news came less than a day after he exited his start versus the Brewers after only throwing seven pitches, and it will sideline him for the remainder of the regular season and the postseason.
