Righthander Seth Maness, who underwent right elbow surgery in August, was let go by the Cardinals on Friday when the club did not offer him a 2017 contract.

Maness, who made $1.4 million last season, becomes a free agent.

Maness, drafted by the Cardinals in 2011, helped pitch the club into postseason three times from 2013-15 as a valued setup man. Twice he appeared in more than 70 games, with a high of 76 games in 2015.
