Celebrating with a champagne party on the podium is one of the longest standing traditions of F1 racing, but a picture from Lewis Hamilton's most recent celebration at the Chinese Grand Prix has the practice – and the driver participating in it – under fire. In the photo (and many others also taken), the hostess being sprayed by the champagne doesn't appear to be enjoying it, and that has led a number of groups like Object, an anti-sexism organization, to call for an apology from Hamilton and an end to the practice. It's of course worth pointing out that the woman in question is likely there of her own volition, but it doesn't take a genius to acknowledge that she looks uncomfortable, and that perhaps the champagne spraying tradition has long run its course.
