CHICAGO • The Cardinals got a couple singles in the second inning and already have more hits through three innings at Wrigley Field than they had through seven innings Monday night.
That doesn't mean they have much to show for them.
Jake Arrieta, the Missouri-native righthander, has held the Cardinals scoreless through three innings. Tommy Pham opened the game with a single, but he was picked off first. Jason Heyward opened the second inning with a single, but he was caught off second on a line drive that became a double play that ended the inning.
