JUPITER, Fla. • Lance Lynn, returning as a starter after missing an entire season with the Cardinals, and Trevor Rosenthal, hoping to be a starter for the first time in the majors, both worked two innings Monday against a top-heavy Washington Nationals lineup. Lilliquist, discussing Lynn first after the Cardinals’ 5-4 win, said, “For not competing all year, same old Lance. His stuff is good. His mechanics are good. Velocity was where it needed to be (as high as 94 miles an hour).
