LOS ANGELES •_Lance Lynn needed 98 pitches to complete five innings for the Cardinals Sunday night and it wasn't entirely clear how healthy he was.
After Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke singled for the second time in the fifth and Joc Pederson walked, a trio of Cardinals employees scampered to the mount to visit Lynn _ manager Mike Matheny, pitching coach Derek Lilliquist and head athletic trainer Greg Hauck.
There was some discussion but Lynn remained in the game and did some of his best pitching of the night, retiring Yasiel Puig, Adrian Gonzales and Justin Turner, the heart of the Dodgers' order on fly outs.
