The Philadelphia Phillies selected outfielder Mickey Moniak out of La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, Calif.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound 18-year-old is believed to have one of the best high school bats in the nation.
"He has a good approach at the plate and can spray line drives to all fields," reads the MLB.com scouting report. "Moniak has more doubles power now, but there's room in his frame to add strength.
