The Minnesota Twins continued their curious silencing of the Cardinals’ offense, ralling from an early deficit to win 4-1 Tuesday night at Target Field. Starter Jose Berrios held the Cardinals to two hits through his strong 7 1/3 innings. He struck out 10 – a strikeout total that is so common against the Cardinals that it borders on epidemic. The lack of offense gave Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty little support through his strong 5 2/3 innings. The Twins tied the game against Flaherty and pulled ahead during their three-run seventh against the Cardinals’ bullpen.
It took a double, an error, a wild pitch, and a home run for the Twins to break away from a tie, 1-1, game and win their third consecutive against the Cardinals.
