Leake holding Pirates at bay early

St. Louis starting pitcher Mike Leake is continuing his run of strong starts.

In the first four innings, Leake hasn't allowed a run, pushing his overall scoreless streak to 13 innings. Leake has given up just one run so far this season -- a sixth-inning RBI double off the bat of Joey Votto in his first start on April 7.

Leake has also been efficient tonight, needing only 56 pitches (36 strikes) so far. He's allowed three hits -- singles to Andrew McCutchen and Jordy Mercer, and a double to David Freese.

McCutchen is back in center field in the first game since the suspension of Starling Marte and already has two difficult catches.
