Cardinals starter John Lackey, who is 36 and in his 14th MLB season, surely is the only regular rotation hurler still pitching who has worked more than 20 starts with each of the three catching Molinas.
When he was with the Angels, he was 34-21 with eldest brother Bengie catching him. Then he was 14-19 with Jose Molina, the second brother. And as a Cardinal, not counting a couple of no-decisions, he is 11-8 with Yadier Molina.
All are different, Lackey said.
“All three of them were professional about watching film and being prepared,’’ he said.
