Rather than lament the end of the 2004 season, though, players and staffers were on hand at Busch Stadium on Saturday night and at a luncheon earlier at the Westin Hotel to celebrate the 105-win regular season and beyond. The weekend coincided with a rare appearance in town of the Houston Astros, whom the Cardinals defeated in an exciting seven-game National League championship series, in which the home team won every game.
