Almost two weeks ago Rawlings revealed the finalist for its famed Gold Glove Award. Among those finalists were three Cardinals: first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, second baseman Kolten Wong, and left fielder Tyler O’Neill. We briefly discussed each member of the trio’s odds, determining Wong and O’Neill seemed to have strong cases to be the winners at their respective positions. Turns out we are really smart because we were correct!
Kolten Wong had another strong year at the keystone amassing 6 defensive runs saved in just under 400 innings in the field. He had 59 putouts and 129 assists on the season and was involved in 29 double plays, starting 14 of those and committed only two errors on the season — one fielding and one throwing.
