June 28 minor league report: Kruczynski makes strong debut in Peoria

Related Topics: Minor League Baseball, June 28

Making his professional debut Tuesday, ninth round draft pick Evan Kruczynski did not allow a base runner in four innings of work for Low-A Peoria.

Kruczynski, a lefty out of Easter Carolina University, surrendered neither a hit nor a walk while striking out two. Peoria won 10-8.

Kruczynski is the only member of this year's Cardinals draft class to already see action with a full-season affiliate.

Other notable performances:

  • Helping the cause in Peoria was third baseman Danny Hudzina. Hudzina went three-for-four with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs in Tuesday's win.
