July 5 minor league report: Fuller hits first homer as a pro

Powerful Cardinals 15th-round draft pick Terry Fuller hit his first home run of the season for the Gulf Coast League Cardinals on Tuesday.

Fuller hit his homer in the top of the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie with the Gulf Coast League Nationals. He went three-for-four on the day, also hitting a double.

Entering Tuesday's game, Fuller had been four-for-17 at the plate this season.

  • Class AAA Memphis outfielder Harrison Bader went three-for-four with a home run and two RBIs in the team's win Tuesday. Bader has been on fire at the plate lately, hitting 14-for-31 with three home runs and nine RBIs in his last eight games.
