By now you have likely heard of the legendary Spring Training plate appearance between Cardinals pitcher Jordan Hicks and Mets infielder Luis Guillorme. When it was all over the plate appearance had gone over 12 minutes, 22 pitches, 16 foul balls, with pitch velocity spanning 101 to 83 mph, and ended in a walk. This was the first game-action for Hicks in 2 years so he exited the game having used all his daily allotted pitches on one-batter in the longest plate appearance in MLB history (the longest in the regular season went 21 pitches).
