MILWAUKEE • Jhonny Peralta, a career .378 hitter at Miller Park, showed why in the second inning Saturday. Peralta tagged an 89 mile an hour fastball by Milwaukee’s Chase Anderson for his fourth homer of the season and the first run of the game.
But the Cardinals failed to add on after Yadier Molina walked and Jedd Gyorko doubled off the right-field fence. That was because Tommy Pham was called out on strikes _ much to his distress _ Carlos Martinez popped up and Greg Garcia struck out. That made the Cardinals nothing for their last 12 with men in scoring position the last two nights and two for 17 in the series.
