JUPITER, Fla. • An hour or so later, after he had seen three of the best arms in camp spin through their early-morning live batting practice sessions, manager Mike Shildt admitted that he watched from the outfield, saw the movement of pitches, and “was just cackling to myself.”
Andrew Miller, Jordan Hicks, and Alex Reyes – in that order and in that order of power – faced teammates in a live batting practice session Monday morning that could speed any or all of the three into games in the coming week. The round of Live BP was Miller’s first, and the veteran lefty expects to be in a Grapefruit League game this weekend.
