Howard helps Phils hike lead to 5-1

PHILADELPHIA _ The Philadelphia Phillies, losers in 21 of their last 25 games, have their sights set on taking one game from the Cardinals in this series and have roughed up Cardinals starter Michael Wacha for a season-high five runs Sunday at Citizens Bank Park.

Philadelphia expanded its lead to 5-1 in the fifth. Ben Revere singled and went to second on Wacha's one-hop, errant pickoff throw to first. Revere advanced to third on Cesar Hernandez's long fly to left and scored as Maikel Franco doubled to left.

St. Louisan Ryan Howard beat the Cardinals' shift by skimming a single to left center, scoring Hernandez.
