Home run leaves Martinez holding fast to one-run lead

NEW YORK • The spark that started the brief scoring jag for the Mets came only after 62 seconds of review of by officials across the way there in Manhattan when really, truly it could have been done much faster.

Asdrubal Cabrera, the Mets' shortstop, was hit on the top of his back foot by a pitch from Carlos Martinez.

He knew it. A quick look at the scoreboard made it clear.

The Mets had to challenge it, and even then it took them a good minute, two minutes to determine that, yes, they wanted to challenge it.
