Baseball this summer – as described by your blood pressure level or Twitter rants or clicker throws – is this torturous tornado.
These baseball games in recent weeks have had more of a feel of a football game – the once-a-week, so-much-at-stake intensity in which a coach or coordinator could be fired with just one more loss. And I suppose Dexter Fowler is like the once-popular, longtime veteran quarterback or cornerback, slowly being replaced.
The Cardinals are still “in it” – 5 ½ games out in the division, 2 ½ out of a wild card spot – but they don't seem in it.
