One generation passes Cardinal baseball to the next. And Lou Brock generated a generation of fans. Actually, maybe two. And those generations, fueled by Lou, ignited the next generations. The Cardinals teams of the 1960s and 1970s wouldn’t have been as strong without Brock, of course, but the Cardinals fandom of the ’80s, ’90s, 2000s and today wouldn’t have been as strong without Brock.
And here we are in 2020, mourning No. 20.
