JUPITER, Fla. • Slingin' Sammy Tuivailala pitched live batting practice here Wednesday — eyes were focused on the righty, especially after Yadier Molina praised the reliever earlier this month. Speaking to our Hall of Fame scribe, The Post-Dispatch's Rick Hummel, Yadi mentioned Tuivailala as a closer candidate for 2018.
“I think ‘Tui’ is going to make a big difference,” Molina said. “I’ve got confidence in him. He can pitch. I have no doubt he’s going to be all right. … I’m expecting big things from him.”
