“Ran on the field during a Cards game?” the Rally Squirrel told The Post-Dispatch late Wednesday. “Copy cat.”
The year the Rally Squirrel delayed a postseason at-bat at Busch, the Cards won the World Series. And on Wednesday, in the midst of a tight division race, a cat ran on the field, interrupting the Cards-Royals game. He became #RallyCat. And after local-folk-hero-to-be Lucas Hackmann scooped up the cat, Yadier Molina drilled the next pitch for a go-ahead grand slam.
