Bo Hart hadn’t heard about the new Bo Hart.
“I’m going to start paying attention today!” he enthusiastically said Friday, after I told him about Aledmys Diaz.
Now 39 and living in Memphis, Hart is of course known for the torrid start to his big-league career. With scrap and a movie-script name, the St. Louis second baseman tied a 102-year-old record with 28 hits in his first 15 games, back in June 2003. In his debut, he doubled and tripled. He tallied two or more hits in seven of his first nine games. And his .460 average after his first 10 games tied a record set by Kirby Puckett.
