Hochman: Barring big run, Mizzou's Anderson needs to go at end of season

COLUMBIA, MO • The man looks sad.

You catch a glimpse of Kim Anderson, this human droop, and you want to be angry about Mizzou’s performances, embarrassed by the thousands of empty seats with a ranked opponent in town, demoralized about how the program, somehow, got to this point.

But the man looks sad, and you know he’s feeling those feelings, too. Shoot, you care about Missouri basketball; he embodies it — all that once made it great, and all the now makes it pathetic.

If only he wasn’t such a nice guy. But this is the reality: Barring any sudden brilliance in conference play, this must be the last season with Anderson coaching the Tigers.
