Like other great philosophers, he goes by one name. He is Edward, the Aristotle of the AT&T Rooftop, the philosophizing fan who accidentally uttered a Cardinals catchphrase.
It seemed seamless — promote the rooftop venue during a Cards telecast by interviewing a few fans up there. Three months later, we're still quoting Edward. So are the Cardinals themselves.
“That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen,” Adam Wainwright told me with a chuckle. “That guy had either partaken in a few beverages. Or brownies.”
Losing teams have sayings, too. But there's something fun about the sayings said and spread by winning teams.
