Jason Heyward hit his second home run of the game, a 400-foot shot into the Cardinals bullpen, as the Cards took a 3-1 lead over the Marlins in the third inning.
Heyward homered in the first to tie the game and he repeated the feat on the first pitch he saw from Marlins starter David Phelps in the third. It's the sixth time in his career that Heyward has hit multiple homers in a game. The most recent was Aug. 17, 2013 at Washington.
Heyward's past four home runs have all come up against Miami. He now has 11 on the season.
