MILWAUKEE • The Cardinals are losing a player a day, which is not particularly a good sign.
First, catcher Yadier Molina went out on Friday with a bruised right knee. Then, righthander Adam Wainwright was lost for perhaps the season with Achilles and left ankle injuries on Saturday.
On Sunday, right fielder Jason Heyward suffered a leg ailment in the process of chasing down Gerardo Parra's run-scoring triple into the right-field corner in the third inning. Heyward, too, had to come out of the game as Milwaukee took a 3-0 lead.
The inning began to go downhill for Cardinals starter Lance Lynn when he tried to make a behind-the-back stop on Logan Schafer's one-out bouncer up the middle.
