Mitch Harris has undergone "Tommy John-like" surgery, the Cardinals right-hander posted on Instagram.
The 30-year-old Harris had been having right elbow issues since Spring Training, and he was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) last week. He hasn't pitched at all this season.
"I had the UCL repaired in a 'Tommy John-like' surgery," Harris' post read.
Harris, the Cardinals' 13th-round Draft pick in 2008 out of the U.S. Naval Academy, posted a 3.67 ERA in 26 appearances for St. Louis last season.
