On April 17, 1945 at 22 year old Red Schoendienst made him major league debut for the St. Louis Cardinals. On July 7, 1963 he made his last MLB appearance for that same team. During that career he would be a ten-time All Star and two-time World Series Champion.
But that was not all.
Red went on to manage the Cardinals from 1965 to 1976 then again in 1980 and again in 1990. He won the World Series twice during his time as a manager (and won as a coach in 1964). To this day, Red attends Spring Training and is involved with the team.
