With one swing in the second inning, Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong provided as many runs as the Cardinals had scored in their previous three games combined.
The Cardinals added three solo home runs in the third inning, including Gyorko’s eighth in 12 games against San Diego, and Tommy Pham piled on with his second homer in as many days to cap the Cardinals’ scoring.
