JUPITER, Fla. • Jedd Gyorko, who hit a club-high 30 homers last season, ripped his first Grapefruit League homer this year in the second inning Monday, connecting for a two-run shot off Houston’s Charlie Morton.
Gyorko, who had been nothing for his last 11, homered on the first pitch after Morton had hit Stephen Piscotty with a pitch and Michael Wacha, who set down the first six men to face him, had a 2-0 lead.
But the Astros rallied to tie the game at 2-2 in the third on singles by Reid Brignac and George Springer and a two-out double to right by Colin Moran.
