Third baseman Jedd Gyorko left Busch Stadium early Tuesday afternoon as he has a "baby on the way," manager Mike Matheny said.
As a result, Gyorko will no longer start Tuesday's contest against the Dodgers. Originally slated to hit cleanup, Gyorko will be replaced in the field by Jhonny Peralta, who will bat sixth.
With Gyorko out, catcher Yadier Molina will move up to the fourth spot and shortstop Aledmys Diaz ascends to fifth.
