PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. • Randal Grichuk homered off Mets closer Jeurys Familia in the ninth to spark a three-run rally as the Cardinals, who have won just one exhibition game in two weeks, wound up tying the New York Mets 5-5 on Friday in a game halted after nine innings when the Mets said they were out of pitchers.
"I wanted to keep going," said Cardinals manager Mike Matheny. "I'm tired of ties (the Cardinals have had three)."
After Grichuk had powered his second spring home run to make it 4-3, Matt Adams and pinch hitter Brandon Moss both singled.
