JUPITER, Fla. • It’s the last day of inactivity here at Camp Cardinals. The facilities are locked. The parking lot is mostly empty.
There is little reason to report today.
There won’t be another day like this till April.
In what’s become something of a tradition for the early arrivals to spring training, the last Sunday before pitchers and catchers report is a quiet day at Roger Dean Stadium and the Cardinals’ complex. Players who have been coming five, six times a week in recent weeks, take the break to spend that one last day with family and friends.
