Cardinals outfielder Randal Grichuk topped off his birthday weekend (he turned 26 Sunday), with his third consecutive two-hit game against the Atlanta Braves. He was six for 12, hitting for the cycle.
Since Aug. 6, he is 12 for 32 (.375) with three doubles, two homers and a triple and has hiked his average to .243, his highest since May 14. He’s had two-hit games in each of his last five starts.
“Good approach,” said manager Mike Matheny. “Not tryinig to do too much. Nice, short swing. Our team is getting better and he’s one of the guys who is getting better.
