JUPITER, Fla. • After he threw a 27-pitch batting practice session against Cardinals hitter and pitchers Friday and pending a normal recovery, Cardinals closer Luke Gregerson is in line to make his second exhibition appearance on Sunday, pitching coach Mike Maddux said .
“Two days ago he threw a really good bullpen and today he just carried over what we saw the other day,” said Maddux. “It’s all the about the bounce-back. How he feels tomorrow is the tall-tale. If all goes good, we’ll probably see him in there Sunday.”
While Gregerson is recovering from a right oblique strain, Alex Reyes continues his rehab from Tommy John elbow surgery.
